Due to budget cuts the Moorpark College Community Orchestra will be discontinued after December, 2011. Our last concert was December 11, 2011. Check back here in January, 2012 for recordings of our final concert. Also, there will be information posted on other community music groups where musicians can play.

The Moorpark College Community Orchestra is a non-audition group, open to players of all ages. We have musicians ranging in age from 8 to 80! It is a "safe" environment for the less experienced players and a challenging environment for the more experienced. I often write or re-arrange parts to suit the skill levels of some of the players. If we have a great clarinetist I'll give her a "souped-up" part to make it more interesting and fun. If a guy comes in with the ability to play four notes on the French horn, I'll re-arrange his part to use the four notes he knows and add a few more notes for musical growth. The point of the class is musical growth. We have a great time.
The fall semester begins Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Tuning at 6:30 and downbeat at 6:35. Come check it out.
